Description | I. NATURE OF POSITION:
- The Academic Interventionist shall be responsible to the Principals and the School Superintendent.
- The Academic Interventionist will play a crucial role in supporting and enhancing student learning by identifying academic challenges, developing intervention strategies, and collaborating with teachers and parents to implement effective solutions.
II. TYPICAL DUTIES:
- Conduct assessments to identify students at risk of academic challenges.
- Analyze student performance data to determine specific areas of need.
- Develop customized intervention plans based on individual student needs.
- Collaborate with teachers and other educational professionals to align interventions with classroom instruction.
- Provide direct intervention services to students, either individually or in small groups.
- Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies to address identified learning gaps.
- Regularly assess and monitor the progress of students receiving interventions.
- Adjust intervention plans as needed based on ongoing assessment data.
- Work closely with classroom teachers to coordinate interventions and support.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and intervention strategies.
- Stay current on educational research and best practices related to academic intervention.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
III. PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- MT Teaching License
- Proven experience in academic intervention and support.
- Strong understanding of diverse learning needs and effective instructional strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Has a deep understanding of instructional methodologies, and a commitment to fostering academic success for all students.
